Tikkun Olum

Tikkun Olam literally means "repair the world." It is a basic tenet of Judaism and one we take seriously here at Temple Emet. Through our volunteers, our various programs or simply by practicing being a good person, our Emet congregation is dedicated to ensuring we leave the world a better place than we found it.

Purim Tzedakah

Temple Emet will again participate in Operation PB & J in concert with Congregation B’nai David. Last year we stuffed 100 kits and had a great day assembling the sandwiches and supplies for each bag. It was a really well attended event. The bags were distributed by a few of our members to the homeless population living downtown LA in tent city encampments. The homeless were very happy to receive these needed supplies and sustenance.

We need your help again this year. With the help of our religious school and volunteers from Temple Emet we will stuff bags on Wednesday, March 8th. Beginning at 4:30 pm in the Social Hall.

Please let us know if you can contribution to support this charitable activity. We are asking for monetary contributions and the following items:

Peanut butter

Sandwich baggies

Brown lunch bags

Loaves of sliced bread

Oranges( cuties)

Water bottles

Each completed kit will included a sandwich, fruit, water bottle, personal hygiene item, etc.. We will gratefully accept any amount of money you can donate.

Please bring cash or write checks payable to Temple Emet, write in memo: Operation P B & J.
