Dear Members & Friends, Our Bible study class is in its fifth year, reading the books of the Bible after the Torah in sequence. This year, we are reading the Book of Kings 1, which starts with the reign of King Solomon. If you are curious about our Bible, this is a great place to begin – King Solomon reigned a united kingdom, unlike the kings who followed him. His wisdom is legendary, and many fabulous stories surround him, including his ability to talk to the animals. He is said to have had 1,000 wives and concubines, and written Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs – three other books of the Bible. On Tuesday evening we will be starting at Chapter 3 of 1 Kings, which includes the famous story of cutting the baby in half. If you have been thinking that you would like to expand your Jewish knowledge, this is a fun way to do it. Our class meets typically twice a month, on the first and third Tuesday evening at 7:00pm. Come give it a try 12/11 at 7:00pm at the Temple. Bring your bible if you have one, or just come to listen and discuss.
